Nora’s Locs and Braids LLC is a community-centered hair care haven committed to serving people of all backgrounds, ages, and abilities. Building on the long-standing legacy of the Awakening Smiles Initiative, which has uplifted vulnerable individuals and families through compassion and service, we seek to continue this mission locally and globally by using hair care as a pathway to dignity, healing, and confidence.

Our Mission

To uplift individuals in need by providing compassionate, affordable hair care services and education that restore dignity, build confidence, and spread joy. We partner with civil society, private businesses and nonprofit organizations to reach special populations and underserved communities through intentional, heart-led service.

A world where everyone feels seen, loved, and valued—no matter their circumstances. Through hair care, we create connection, healing, confidence, and community, spreading joy and lasting impact one person at a time.

What We Do

Through our CSR program, Nora’s Locs and Braids LLC offers:

  • Low-cost or sponsored hair care services for individuals in need
  • Hair care education and self-maintenance training to promote independence
  • Confidence-building experiences that affirm identity and self-worth
  • Community-based service days and workshops in partnership with nonprofits
  • Custom formulated programs tailored to specific targeted individuals and groups.
